In this project I try to capture landscapes that brings out many emotions, memories and experiences in me. Being from India, which doesn’t really have a pronounced autumn season, an experience of seeing the colours of autumn, which so far I have only read about in poems of John Keats and Robert Frost, was new for me. Through my photos in this project, I am trying to explore and capture these enchanting landscapes and trying to express my feelings through them. When the end of fall is near and the winter seeps in, it is a very new and interesting experience for me. The mist surrounding the trees makes it mysterious, haunting, and lonely yet beautiful. I could say that the landscapes captured in my photos that day and in that time, mirrored my own emotions. A walk through the woods, the smell of the dried leaves and wet soil, the rustling sound of leaves evokes peacefulness. The photographs that I have taken, try to bring out, or indulge oneself in ‘self’ reflection and mulling over inner emotions, trying to relate to the landscape and the tones. The warm colours of the fall and the grey and cold onset of winter challenged me with mixed emotions. Finding happiness in my solitude or marvelling at the toned-down colours of nature.
